Our Story

They finally met in person on a freezing night in February of 2022. At the time, neither of their lives were in great shape. Zach was working insanely long hours in a law firm job that he hated, and Alex was dealing with the recent loss of a family member. Even so, they decided to take a chance, brave the cold, and meet a new person.

Honestly, their first date didn't start off with a bang so much as a whimper. Zach, being the shy fella that he is, barely spoke for the first hour. Meanwhile Alex, being the neurotic woman that she is, interviewed him as if he were applying for a job. Zach has since called their first date, "intense, and, frankly, terrifying."

But then, something clicked. They fell into an easy rhythm. The next thing they knew, it was 3 a.m., and they'd been talking for hours.

From that moment on, they were crazy about each other. Alex started calling Zach her "sweater," because his presence was so comforting that he felt like a wool sweater that she'd owned for years. Zach was amazed at how quickly it felt like they'd known each other all their lives.

The years that followed were full of love. They traveled the world together as often as they could, supported each other through career changes, navigated newfound pet ownership, and slowly began to build a little family unit - just the two of them, their dog, and their cat.

Finally, in the April of 2025, Zach proposed. For her part, Alex wasn't surprised. This could be chalked up to the fact that she knew Zach so well...and that he is a very bad liar, who doesn't have a manipulative bone in his body.

They are so grateful to have found each other, and so thankful to their communities who have supported them in this exciting season.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this relationship, this wedding, and this shared life. We love you all so very much.

Alex and Zach didn't have a traditional meet-cute. Instead, like most other couples of their generation, they met on a dating app (Bumble, for anyone who's curious).

Funnily enough, Zach actually accidentally swiped left on Alex's profile. Panicking, he paid $8 just so that he could undo that little mistake. To this day, he says it's the best money he's ever spent.
